Alternatives by Dr David Williams, World Renown Scientist.
The word Lecithin is derived from the Greek word lekithos mean egg yolk, from which the compound was first isolated. Egg yolks are an excellent food source for Lecithin but, as we have seen, the public has abondoned egg yolks at a time when they may need them the most.
Dr Williams explains the theory in the following way: the normal body temperature is 37°C. This is also 98.6°F as you know. Body temperature is 37°C and cholesterol melts at 149°C. Basically, this means that a hunk of waxy cholesterol stuck in your artery somewhere isn't going to be easy to remove unless it is liquefied. That's where Lecithin comes in.
A Canadian researcher, F.A. Vanderheuvel, found that cholesterol becomes soluble in the bloodstream only when enough Lecithin is present. Both fat-protein molecules that transport cholesterol (HDL and LDL molecules) contain Lecithin.
The fat portion of HDL's has almost twice as much lecithin as the fat portion of LDLs. Fats in HDLs are 53 percent lecithin and 27 percent cholesterol, and in the LDLs are 29 percent lecithin and 45 percent cholesterol.
This helps explain the "good" HDL and "bad" LDL cholesterol-the HDL is much higher in beneficial lecithin.
Lecithin is one of the most important nutrients you can take to protect your heart. It hasn't been endorsed by orthodox medicine or the media for one very simple reason. It is not patentable, and no money can be made from promoting it by the large pill companies. Hooray!!!
Dr Williams recommends taking one or two tablespoons of lecithin a day. It is easy to add to your diet, just sprinkle it on yogurt or fruit, or use as a topping for soups and salads.
Quite frankly, I have been using this Lecithin for over two years, and I have been diagnosed as having the "heart of a twentyone year old", and I am a large fat guy who weighs 350 pounds. I am also a Type 2 diabetic, and my blood pressure trends in the normal to low normal range every day....esbumgarner

Blood Sugar Control....an Alternative Herb
taken from Dr David Williams Atlas...
Blood Sugar Control
Salacia oblonga is an herb that has long been used in Ayurveda, the traditional form of medicine in India to treat diabetes. Dr Williams first heard about Salacia oblonga when he was in Australia in June of 2005.
When he returned from Australia, Dr Williams researched this herb finding out that Ohio State University had found that Aaptrangi was able to safely reduce blood insulin levels by 29 percent and the post meal rise in blood sugar by 23 percent which is comparable to conventional diabetes medications.
This herb works in much the same way as some prescription diabetes medications-by binding with certain enzymes and preventing them from turning carbohydrates into free glucose.
Research has also shown repeatedly that if you can reduce the need for insulin you also reduce your risk of developing such associated complications as kidney dysfunction, heart disease, retinopathy, cataracts, and peripheral nerve damage.

Deadly Mistakes That Diabetics Make....
reprinted from article written by Dr Malay of Dallas Texas. Long time Dallas Area Diabetes Patient Advocate Dr. Jade Malay reveals common Diabetic Treatments and Therapies may be at a DEAD end.....and what you CAN do about it.
1. Thinking that Type 2 Diabetes Is Exclusively Genetic
Could you have been born with Type 2 diabetes as your genetic destiny? Of course, however this is just one of the factors amongst many. Your genetics are just one factor in your diabetes and not the only one by a long shot!
Factors such as treatment protocols, lifestyle choices, diet, exercise, ability to handle stress, etc. are just as if not more important than your "genes".
This serious and deadly idea has led many a doctor to teach his/her diabetic patients that they are "helpless" and simply must suffer using drugs for the rest of their heart disease, shortened lives.
NOTHING could be further from the truth. The notion that "You're mother and father have diabetes so it's no surprise that you now have it."
This point of view is extremely dangerous because it limits your possibilities fro treatment and healing.
2. Believing Type 2 Diabetes Is Irreversible.
If you've been told this completely FALSE concept, then you've been flat out been lied to.
Those who would have you believe this, have simply failed to do their home work and they've decided to "give up" and in turn impose their defeat upon YOU.
This one mistake has led doctors to continually prescribe expensive and at times even dangerous diabetic, high blood pressure and cholesterol lowering drugs.....And of course as this belief ultimately results in worsening of your condition....the prescription is typically More insulin.
3. Behaving As If Prescription Drugs Are The ONLY Option For Your Type 2 Diabetes.
Is this a true statement for SOME diabetics? Yes. Should you alter your medication in any way without strict doctor supervision...no way!
However, if your doctor has already "given up" and believes these first three mistakes to be true, then the best, smartest and most prudent thing you can do is seek a second or third or fourth opinion if necessary.
Think about how many millions of dollars are spent on diabetes research every year, year after year, and yet their is no cure and more and more people are diagnosed with diabetes every single year and fewer and fewer do anything other than grow old, overweight and lethargic under the current standard approach.
4. Expecting That All Doctors Know How To Treat Type 2 Diabetes.
This is both a touchy, AND controversial topic, but it is definitely time to call a spade a spade.
The fact remains that there are potential treatments that either involve LESS or ZERO dangerous drugs...and the FACT remains that the vast majority of doctors simply DON'T KNOW the facts when it comes to NON DRUG treatments that may be helpful or supportive for patients suffering with diabetes.
Sure, the standard recommendations are drugs AND the lip service "to eat right and exercise". However, the question remains...'eat what'?
'What kinds of exercise is best and most reasonable'. The truth is that just like ANY "expert" whether it be a car mechanic, dentist, accountant or doctor...if you have a problem that they have LITTLE or no experience in, then chances are good that they can't help you much.
NON DRUG oriented help for diabetes is something your doctor likely knows little about or has little experience with. This obviously is NOT true of all doctors but if YOUR doctor isn't REGULARLY and INTIMATELY helping patients with diabetes to minimize their need for medications or helping them radically improve their quality of life then you may need to seek out other members of the health care community who DO have that experience to help you.
Do some type 2 diabetics NEED medication to survive? Yes. Can some type 2 diabetics do simple things that could reduce or eliminate their medications and radically improve their quality of life? ABSOLUTELY. Which one are you? You'll need a proper evaluation with an EXPERIENCED doctor to find out.
The point here is NOT to say that medications are not needed or inappropriate. The point is to say that there are simple strategies virtually every diabetic can utilize to radically improve the quality of their life.
5. The Only Organ In The Body That Is Involved In Sugar Regulation Is Your Pancreas.
This just might be the MOST serious of the mistakes that most diabetics make. Is the pancreas KEY in diabetics?....no question about it. YES.
However, a diabetic that ONLY addresses their pancreas is like a guitar player who ONLY uses ONE string or bicycle with ONLY ONE wheel. Failure to evaluate and support the OTHER organs involved in sugar regulation like your LIVER, ADRENAL GLANDS, and THYROID is one of the biggest mistakes a diabetic can make and also one of the costly as well.
